‘A disgrace’ – Barcelona chief fumes over Kylian Mbappé’s La Liga ban | OneFootball

A member of the boardroom at La Liga giants Barcelona has on Wednesday made clear his utter dismay with the punishment handed down to Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.

This comes after the Frenchman escaped what could have been a lengthy ban, for a frankly awful challenge over the weekend.

Mbappé was for his part in from the off once more on Sunday, as Real Madrid made the trip to Mendizorroza for a La Liga meeting with Deportivo Alavés.

And though his teammates ultimately managed to emerge with all three points, the summer arrival in Spain endured an evening to forget.

This came after a shocking studs-up first-half challenge on Mbappé’s part culminated in a deserved red card.

The nature of the challenge had since seen calls mount for a serious punishment to be handed down to the France international.

In turn, it came as a major surprise when word was forthcoming on Tuesday that, in fact, Mbappé would be facing up to just a one-game domestic ban.

And as alluded to above, unable to bite his tongue regarding his anger with as much today was Barcelona vice president Rafa Yuste.

Drawn on Mbappé’s sanction during an interview with RAC1, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, Yuste ranted:

“The tackle and the sanction are absolutely absurd. It was shocking and could have injured the opponent. It’s a disgrace!”
