There are only a few weeks left till the end of the 2024-25 season, and FC Barcelona are already being linked with several players for whom they are rumoured to try to make moves in the upcoming summer transfer window.

There have been some conflicting reports in this regard. Earlier, the Blaugranes were reported to be keen on reinforcing their forward line, and the incorporation of a left winger was the highest priority. However, later reports indicated that the Catalans are not looking for a forward, and would want to reinforce the flanks and the midfield with a higher priority.

Partey is reportedly looking for a move back to Spain, after having played for Atletico Madrid earlier in his career, and Barcelona was one of the clubs closely monitoring his situation in London.

The £200k-a-week midfielder himself viewed this interest from the Blaugranes very positively, but wants to finalise his future as soon as possible, as there are only two months left on his contract.

Meanwhile, the Catalans are facing a lot of uncertainty about their ability to make their desired moves in the transfer market, especially keeping in view their financial fair play problems.

In such a context, Mundo Deportivo reports that the Gunners want to keep the midfielder in their ranks and have resumed talks with him to extend his contract.

Partey has been a key part of Mikel Arteta’s team this season, playing 3,486 minutes in 45 matches so far, in which he has scored 4 goals and provided 3 assists. Thus, it is understandable why Arsenal are keen to keep the midfielder in their team.

Meanwhile, Barcelona have a lot of resources to rely on for the three midfield spots, and missing out on the Ghanaian would not really be a big blow for them.
