Paris Saint-Germain are loaded with midfield talent, but size is still a weak spot. Fabian Ruiz stands as the tallest regular at 6-foot-2 (1.89m), and there’s a noticeable drop-off in height after that.
Senny Mayulu adds some length at 6 feet (1.83m), but beyond the 18-year-old, there aren’t many physically imposing options in the center of the pitch. That could push PSG to target a bigger presence in midfield this summer—someone who fits Luis Enrique’s possession-based system without sacrificing their fluid style of play.
Another route could be adding an experienced veteran to steady the young core that’s come together over the past few transfer windows.
With that in mind, Arsenal insider Charles Watts recently noted that the Gunners haven’t begun contract talks with Thomas Partey, whose deal expires this summer. Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG are all reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation.

In his most recent column for CaughtOffside, Watts updated the situation regarding Partey and noted that the Gunners’ stance regarding keeping the veteran midfielder has changed.
“This time last week I would have said it was almost certain that Thomas Partey would leave Arsenal in the summer. I still do think that is the most likely scenario, but I have been told that there is a feeling within Partey’s camp that the club are open to starting talks over a potential extension for the midfielder,” Watts wrote.
“Partey is out of contract in the summer, and so far, there have been no formal talks over a new deal. His representatives were in London recently and watched the Real Madrid game, but that visit did not include discussions with the club over his future.
“So we’ll have to see what happens over the coming weeks when it comes to the Ghana international. I know he is happy and settled in London with his family and he would be open to staying, with a new two-year deal understood to be something he and his representatives view as acceptable. But you could understand why Arsenal would be reluctant to extend Partey’s stay, with his injury record far from impressive during his time in North London.”
