A leading member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona looks set to miss the club’s upcoming showdown with Inter Milan.
That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Alejandro Balde as the player in question.
Defender Balde has for his part been sidelined for the last couple of weeks.
This comes owing to a hamstring injury suffered en route to Barcelona’s 1-0 La Liga downing of Leganés.
The 21-year-old has missed the Blaugrana’s last four outings across all competitions as a result, including this past weekend’s Copa del Rey final.
Until now, there had been quiet optimism that Balde could return to fitness in time to play his part in Wednesday’s upcoming Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with Inter Milan.
If the latest word stemming from Catalunya’s capital is anything to go by, however, then as much appears to have been all but ruled out.
As per a report from AS:
‘Alejandro Balde did not train with the group this Monday, so his presence for the Champions League semi-final first leg against Inter on Wednesday is practically ruled out.’
