Carlo Ancelotti is highly likely to part ways with Real Madrid at the end of the season, and Milan and Roma, which have past ties with him, are looking for a high-end coach, but they aren’t the frontrunners to land him, as things are aligning for him to take over Brazil, The Athletic reports (via Rai). They have been keen for years.

The veteran gaffer is expected to pay the price for Los Blancos’ subpar season despite having had a great deal of success in previous one. Florentino Perez is leaning toward bringing in a new gaffer. The frontrunner is Xabi Alonso. He has a gentleman’s agreement with Bayer Leverkusen, should Los Merengues target him.

Ancelotti tops the Brazil shortlist after the ousting of Dorival Junior, along with Al-Hilal’s Jorge Jesus, and Milan and Roma would have little chances of being successful if the Seleçao put pedal to the metal to persuade him.

The boss already coached the Rossoneri earlier in his career, winning one Champions League, and played in the Italian capital. He often expressed his affinity for the Giallorossi and desire to coach them eventually.

Our Take on Ancelotti, Brazil, Milan, and Roma

He didn’t seem too keen on helming a national team in his remarks, even in his recent ones, but perhaps he has changed his mind. Os Pentacampoes obviously have a special allure. The pursuit by the two Serie A sides should have started yesterday. Both have a connection with him. The salary would be a sticking point, but he settled for less than a stellar rate at Napoli not too long ago.
