Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has already come to a decision on his plans for the club’s goalkeeper department for the upcoming Copa del Rey final.

Real are of course primed to play out a potentially season-defining outing this weekend.

Making the trip to La Cartuja, Los Blancos will lock horns with arch rivals Barcelona, with the Copa del Rey title on the line.

The fixture marks an absolutely crucial one for the reigning Spanish champions, in the knowledge that, in all likelihood, it is their last real shot at silverware before the campaign is out.

In turn, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of Carlo Ancelotti having already made one no doubt painful selection call.

To this point in Real Madrid’s Copa campaign, Andriy Lunin has acted as the first-choice goalkeeper in Los Merengues’ squad.

This weekend, however, despite having played a key role in the club’s journey to the tournament showpiece, the Ukrainian will be forced to watch on from the bench.

This comes amid confirmation on the part of Relevo that:

‘Andriy Lunin had been Ancelotti’s goalkeeper during all the previous knockout rounds of this tournament, but at La Cartuja, Thibaut Courtois will defend the Real Madrid goal. Carletto made the decision in recent weeks, and the locker room is already aware of it.’
