An insight into the financial demands laid out by Athletic Club star Nico Williams and his entourage during a recent meeting with Arsenal has been provided.

For those who may have missed it, the name of attacker Nico took its place front and centre in the media headlines across Europe earlier this week.

This came after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Spanish international’s agents had sat down for a meeting with new Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the final third for next season, the Gunners, it is understood, have earmarked Nico as a leading target.

The brass at The Emirates are said to be willing to fork over the entirety of the 22-year-old’s Athletic release clause, a sum in the region of €60 million.

If the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, however, then Nico’s wage requests could yet prove a stumbling block towards a deal being struck.

As per a report from Diario Sport, citing The Telegraph, the winger’s representatives laid out demands of €15 million-per-season to Andrea Berta.

It now remains to be seen whether or not Arsenal would be willing to commit to such a considerable financial package.
