Former Real Madrid forward and director of football, Pedja Mijatovic, has heavily criticised Real Madrid’s display during their Copa del Rey semi-final second leg against Real Sociedad.
The encounter left many baffled, including Mijatovic, who found it hard to understand how the match unfolded.
The game was anything but straightforward. Real Madrid appeared sluggish and unorganised from the start, allowing Real Sociedad to take full advantage.
Mijatovic struggled to comprehend how a team like Real Madrid could allow such a performance to occur, particularly at such a critical stage of the tournament.
“Who’s capable of analyzing something like this? Let’s see how you analyze a game in which the other team scores four goals and is eliminated.
“Or how you analyze when Real Madrid starts off sluggishly and then goes into Transformers mode and starts doing the things they usually do,” he said as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.

For Mijatovic, this unpredictability has become a common theme for Real Madrid in recent times.
Their tendency to begin matches in a disjointed manner, only to suddenly shift gears and attempt a comeback, raises questions about their overall strategy and preparation.
“As a neutral spectator, watching that, you say… my goodness, football is so beautiful! I really enjoyed it.
“I was with some friends watching the game, and everyone was saying… ‘When is Real Madrid going to stop doing things like this?’ And I told them… Never! Never, guys, they will never stop doing it!”
Mijatovic’s frustration with Real Madrid’s approach is understandable, especially considering his deep-rooted connection to the club.
Last night’s game showcased both the brilliance and the flaws of Carlo Ancelotti’s side. Although Real Madrid eventually found their rhythm, it was overall a sluggish performance, to say the least.
