Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi will tonight be the subject of a France 2 investigative documentary Complément d’Enquête, which is set to look at the Qatari’s influence in French football since rising to become president of the club in 2011. Veronique Rabiot is set to feature in the post-documentary debrief interview, who has even recently had exchanged bitter accusations with the president of the club from the French capital following the return of her son Adrien Rabiot to the Parc des Princes in an Olympique de Marseille shirt. The recent controversy dates back to March 17, when Véronique Rabiot appeared on L’Équipe de Greg following a Classique clash between PSG and Olympique de Marseille. During that match, PSG supporters unfurled banners targeting both her and her son, leading her to openly criticise the club’s management. “We live in a world of business, a world of money, and nobody wants to take a stand because everyone is afraid of PSG,” she stated. In her latest comments on Complément d’Enquête, Véronique Rabiot revisited the March incident, expressing disbelief at the inaction of football authorities. Le Parisien, which obtained early access to the program, quoted her as saying: “What shocks me the most is that the match wasn’t stopped, that the referee supposedly heard nothing, while everyone else did. My son and I have filed a complaint, and we may become civil parties in a legal proceeding.”Beyond the insults, Véronique Rabiot also shed light on Adrien’s exile from the PSG squad in 2018, when he refused to extend his contract. “Nasser told me: ‘It will be war.’ And war it was,” she recalled. While acknowledging that Al-Khelaïfi could be “sympathetic and approachable,” she added that he could also be “frankly unpleasant.”GFFN | George Boxall
