Arne Slot’s Liverpool side have officially won the Premier League title in the Dutch manager’s first season in charge of the club.
For a large part of the season, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side challenged them but once again they failed to get over the line.
Inspired by the brilliance of Mohamed Salah and the leadership quality of Virgil Van Dijk, Liverpool proved their critics wrong and showed that there is life after Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds celebrated their title win after the win against Tottenham on Sunday at Anfield.
When Klopp announced his departure in early 2024, many feared Liverpool would regress.
Instead, Slot stepped in and seamlessly built on Klopp’s foundations while refreshing the team’s tactical approach. He made them more controlled and enhanced what Klopp had left behind.
Slot’s trust in the squad he inherited, rather than demanding massive changes, shows that he has all the faith in his ability.
Salah proved once again why he is one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever players.
His consistency, leadership, and ability to produce in big moments were vital, especially when Liverpool needed inspiration in tight matches.
The Egyptian, who has signed a new two-year deal at the club, has scored 28 goals and provided 18 assists in the league this season and there are still four games left to play.
His individual quality is perhaps the biggest reason why Liverpool have been crowned the champions of England.
Van Dijk enjoyed a renaissance season, returning to his dominant best after a dip in form.
His partnership in central defense with Ibrahima Konate gave the Liverpool players the license they needed to focus on attack.

Along with a strong defensive base, Liverpool’s midfield performances surprised this season, particularly the consistency of Ryan Gravenberch.
Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and the back-up options of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott gave Liverpool an energetic, technically gifted engine room that not only pressed but also scored crucial goals in key moments.
Goalkeeper Alisson Becker deserves a special mention for his consistency and quality.
Whenever Liverpool’s defensive line was breached, he was there to protect them.
All in all, it was a complete team performance from Slot’s side and with the Dutch manager expected to build on his success with new additions
