Scotland travel to Greece tonight for the first leg of their Nations League play-off tie.

Steve Clarke’s side are attempting to maintain their place in League A, having finished third behind Portugal and Croatia to leave themselves in danger of being relegated.

Greece, meanwhile, are looking for promotion to the top table of the competition, and will believe they can get the better of Scotland after impressing in their group matches.

They finished second in Group B2 but only on goal difference in their matches against England, having beaten them at Wembley but then lost on home soil in Athens.

Scotland are in Athens themselves tonight before the reverse fixture takes place at Hampden Park this weekend.

The focus will then turn to the World Cup qualifiers, when Scotland will once again go up against Greece, after they were drawn in the same group. The two nations will be joined by either Denmark or Portugal, as well as Belarus, when the race to book a place at the 2026 World Cup begins in June.

Clarke’s contract is due to run out after the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico, and he has suggested he could step down as Scotland boss after that.

"I'll go on percentage - 75%," Clarke said when asked if he had entered the final 18 months of his reign.

"That's something that I haven't spoken to my bosses about. I said before the September camp last year that I'm going to run my contract down and then we'll see what happens."
