Inter Milan defender Benjamin Pavard is not expected to be named in the starting line-up when France take on Croatia in their UEFA Nations League quarter-final clash today.
As reported in today’s newspaper edition of French outlet L’Equipe, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the former Bayern Munich defender is likely to be named as a substitute by coach Didier Deschamps.
France must overturn a 2-0 defeat in the first leg in order to progress and face one of Spain or the Netherlands in the quarter-final, and Deschamps is expected to make some changes to the side that loss in Split last week.
Bayern forward Michael Olise is set to join Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele in a trident attack.
However, in defence it is expected that Theo Hernandez will replace the injured Lucas Digne, whilst Dayot Upamecano will come in for Ibrahima Konate, leaving no space in the team for Pavard.
