The agent of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has left the door open to a possible contract extension with the Gunners, insisting a decision on his future at the club has not yet been made.

The 33-year-old's current deal runs until the end of the season and he is widely expected to depart on a free transfer, with a move to Brazil regularly speculated. Jorginho even recently admitted he is interested in the idea of playing in the country of his birth.

However, the door is not yet closed to a future in Europe or even with Arsenal, as Jorginho's agent confirmed talks over the Italian's next move will be held next month.

"From April 15, I will begin talks with clubs in England, including Arsenal, as well as teams from Italy, Saudi Arabia and Brazil," agent Joao Santos told Daily Arsenal.

Jorginho is free to agree a contract with any overseas club, but would have to wait until his deal expires before formalising a move to another English side if he does leave Arsenal this summer.

A £12m signing from Chelsea in 2023, Jorginho has managed 76 appearances for Arsenal but has struggled for minutes this season following the summer arrival of Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad. He has managed 24 appearances in all competitions, 14 of which have come as a starter.

Arteta has instead preferred a midfield trio of Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Thomas Partey, the latter of whom is also in the final few months of his contract. A new midfielder is also on the radar for this summer, with Real Sociedad's Martin Zubimendi and Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes among those linked.
