The report claims that Barcelona will accept any offer around €65-70 million for the Dutch International midfielder. It remains to be seen whether Liverpool and Chelsea are willing to pay that kind of money for him.

There is no doubt that he is a world-class midfielder, and his Barcelona teammate Marc Casado has recently described him as a “great player”. He has been linked with Manchester United as well.

Liverpool need more quality in the middle of the park, and the 27-year-old will help them control games better. He will also add flair and drive to the side. Liverpool have been overly reliant on players like Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister this season. Both players will need more rest if Liverpool wants to compete at a high-level in multiple competitions. De Jong could be an outstanding addition for them.

Meanwhile, Chelsea need someone who can run the game from the deep. The 27-year-old could form a solid partnership with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo.

Both clubs have the financial resources to afford him, and it remains to be seen whether they decide to come forward with an official proposal in the coming months. The Dutch International midfielder has proven himself in La Liga, and he could be open to trying out a new challenge. The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be hard to turn down for him.
