Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has this week spoken out on the speculation linking star midfielder Bruno Fernandes with a move to Spain.
The name of Portuguese international Fernandes has proven an altogether prominent one in the transfer headlines over recent days.
This comes amid the understanding that the 30-year-old has made his way onto the radar of those behind the scenes at La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid.
On the lookout for a new creative influence in midfield owing to Luka Modrić’s advancing years, Fernandes, it is claimed, is considered one potential option.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his engine room standout was put to the aforementioned Ruben Amorim.
And Man United’s headmaster could not have been more dismissive in his response:
“Bruno Fernandes to Real Madrid? It will not happen. He’s going nowhere. One day we want to win the Premier League again. So we want the best players to continue with us… and Bruno won’t leave, I already told him.”
