The former has failed to reach the heights of last season as City have struggled as a collective this season but boasts a good record in this fixture. Foden has scored five times in 10 previous league appearances against Villa.

City remain without Erling Haaland and Rodri, with neither likely to feature before the end of the Premier League campaign. John Stones is another still sidelined, alongside Nathan Ake and first-choice goalkeeper Ederson, who has a groin issue.
