AS Monaco face Olympique de Marseille in what is a key clash in the race for UEFA Champions League football. The Principality club’s 2-1 defeat to Stade Brestois on Saturday has allowed OM to re-take second spot and going into Saturday’s game at the Stade Louis II, just two points separate the sides.
Speaking at Monaco’s Kids’ Tour event in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Wilfried Singo previewed what may be a telling match in Monaco’s season. “We hope to bounce back after the defeat last weekend. This weekend, we will try to bounce back from it and work hard. We’ll have a big opponent in front of us. There are six matches left, six finals. We’ll take it match by match,” said Singo.
Monaco lost the game at the Vélodrome earlier in the season in the dying minutes. However, Roberto De Zerbi’s side have recently been on a tough run. Marseille’s five-game winless run came to an end thanks to a 3-2 win over Toulouse FC, even if the performance was once again shaky.
“It is not necessarily [about avenging the defeat]. We just want to work well and stay focused from the start until the end. There is never a good time to face Marseille. They are a big club and a good team,” the Ivorian added, responding to Get French Football News.
