Some interesting odds on Premier League top four (and other possibilities) for the 2024/25 season where Newcastle United are concerned.

With bookies taking stock after NUFC lost 4-1 at Villa.

That match coming along as part of a weekend that overall saw largely negative results for Newcastle United.

All of the teams in the top seven who played on Saturday and Sunday won their matches, apart from Newcastle United. Whilst Forest are away to Spurs on Monday night.

The bookies and punters reacting to how things now stand in the Premier League table (see below), as well of course, how they are now seeing the underlying strengths of the various teams and squads.

Listed below are the general Premier League odds now (morning of 21 April 2025) available from the various bookies for the 2024/25 season (in brackets are what the odds were after the very opening round of PL games):

Win the Premier League:

1/100 (13/2) Liverpool

250/1 (9/5) Arsenal

This is how the Premier League table looks today (Monday 21 April 2025):

Premier League relegation:

Already relegated – Southampton

Already relegated – Leicester

1/1,000 (10/11) Ipswich

25/1 (12/1) Man City

The bottom three also a formality as well, Ipswich are only mathematically not already down, whilst Leicester were confirmed on Sunday, along with Southampton getting instant relegation after promotion.

If you are wondering about the Man City 25/1 odds of relegation, this is due to the possibility (probability?) of severe punishment from the 115 Premier League charges they face, which could include amongst other sanctions, points deduction or even relegation. Still waiting for the outcome of that case.

Finish Premier League top four:

Liverpool now guaranteed top four

1/200 (1/9) Arsenal

1/3 (1/7) Man City

4/5 (9/4) Newcastle United

9/4 (100/1) Forest

9/4 (9/4) Chelsea

5/1 (7/2) Villa

This is where, like me, I guess you will be giving most focus.

Can Newcastle United bounce back into the Premier League top four and get Champions League football?

Well, the bookies now have NUFC fourth most likely to finish top four.

Of course, with it now top five guaranteed Champions League football, United still now in a great position to get over the line and return to the top European competition, despite that defeat at Villa and other results going against them.
