Diego Aguado is one of many defensive prodigies coming out of La Fabrica since Raul Asencio made his big breakthrough in the first-team at the end of last year.
Although Aguado is not a part of Real Madrid’s first-team plans yet, he is one of the players Carlo Ancelotti rates quite highly.
Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid have made a crucial step in securing Aguado’s long-term future at the club by renewing his contract.
Indeed, Aguado has signed a contract extension at Real Madrid, with the new deal set to keep him at the club until 2029.
Since an official confirmination is still missing, the final details of the new contract are not available just yet. However, the new deal is likely to include a significant salary increase.
Moreover, if earlier reports are anything to go by, Real Madrid are also likely to include a €50 million release clause, which could go a long way in fending off potential suitors.
As mentioned earlier, Aguado is not a part of Real Madrid’s first-team yet. But the youngster has featured in countless training sessions with the first-team and has been called up to the squad multiple times.
Therefore, he is one of those players who are knocking on the door of the first-team and the near future could have something big in store.
To that end, Aguado’s contract extension could prove to be a smart piece of business for Real Madrid, although it remains to be seen whether or not the young defensive prodigy can live up to the expectations in the years to come.
