It is not rare for players to leave Celtic. In fact, life at Parkhead seems like a constant cycle. Whether you do well or not, an exit always seems to be around the corner. Of course, there are some that the club would have much rather kept in Glasgow for longer. But then again, such is the nature of the modern game.

One issue that Celtic have had to deal with in recent years is their inability to develop academy graduates into first-team regulars. As a result, a lot of them have chosen to leave early on in their careers rather than wait around at Parkhead for their chance to come.

A name that falls under that category is that of Ben Doak. He was handed two senior appearances by Ange Postecoglou but that was not enough to convince the youngster to stay, as he ended up joining Liverpool.

Breaking in at Liverpool, especially when Mohamed Salah is ahead of you in the pecking order, has proven extremely difficult. Doak has made 10 senior appearances for the Premier League giants so far and was sent out on loan to Middlesbrough this season. And now, there are question marks over his future at Anfield.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Everton's interest in Doak is genuine, with David Moyes understood to be a fan of the Liverpool youngster. The Toffees have not entered into any club-to-club negotiations for the winger but he has been discussed internally.

Clubs like Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are also believed to be interested in signing Doak. It could take £25m to £30m to sign him, if Liverpool decide on a permanent transfer this summer.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Doak. It is worth mentioning that there have been some rumours about a return to Celtic on loan as well.
