After spending ten years with the first team, Lucas Vazquez may finally be preparing to say goodbye to Real Madrid.

According to an update from SPORT, the versatile full-back and winger could be considering a move away from the Spanish capital at the end of the current season when his contract officially expires.

And as he approaches the final stretch of his career, one of the most attractive options on the table appears to be Saudi Arabia, where interest in experienced European players remains strong.

A diminishing role

Vazquez, who will turn 34 in the summer, has played a more important role this season only due to the injury suffered by Dani Carvajal.

His contributions have been appreciated, but it seems his long-term future at the club is uncertain.

Furthermore, Real Madrid are also working to bring in Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold and if the Englishman joins, Vazquez’s chances of regular minutes next season would shrink further, prompting him to consider alternative destinations.

Saudi side Al-Qadisiyah showing strong interest

The strongest interest has come from Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadisiyah. The club, which already secured the services of Nacho Fernandez last season, is now keen to reunite the former Real Madrid teammates.

Talks are said to be ongoing, with Al-Qadisiyah reportedly offering Vazquez a two-year contract. The proposed deal includes a yearly salary of over €15 million—far higher than his current earnings at Real Madrid.

Such a lucrative offer, coupled with the chance to play regularly and experience a new footballing culture, could prove too tempting to turn down.

With Real Madrid heading in a younger direction, and his playing time likely to decrease, a move to Saudi Arabia could mark the beginning of a new chapter for Vazquez, closing the curtain on an impressive decade in Madrid colours.
