Arda Güler's stunning strike led Real Madrid to a 1-0 LaLiga triumph at Getafe as Los Blancos moved within four points of league leaders Barcelona.

Real Madrid were on the front foot from the outset and both Fran Garcia and Brahim Díaz were denied early by David Soria.

However, the Getafe goalkeeper had no chance of stopping Arda Güler's effort minutes later after the Los Blancos midfielder rifled a fierce 25-yard strike into the top corner.

Getafe's best chance of the contest came just after half time as Álvaro Rodríguez's header went just over the crossbar.

Real Madrid had another late scare when Mauro Arambarri's shot skimmed past the post.

Getafe are seven points above the relegation zone after losing three matches in a row, while Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid closed the gap on Barça with just five LaLiga fixtures remaining.
