A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has on Saturday come in for some altogether undesirable treatment on the part of the club’s supporters.
The player in question? Vinícius Jr.
Wide-man Vinícius was in from the off once more this evening, as Real Madrid welcomed Valencia to Spain’s capital for a La Liga clash.
Safe to say, however, that things have not exactly gone according to plan for the Brazilian to date.
Amid a disappointing all-round performance on Vinícius’ part, the lowlight came inside the quarter of an hour mark, upon the 24-year-old fluffing his lines from the penalty spot.
After taking responsibility from 12 yards despite the presence of Kylian Mbappé on the pitch, Vinícius’ weak effort was easily kept out by Giorgi Mamardashvili.
And such woes on the part of their side’s attacking talisman have not gone at all overlooked on the part of the Real Madrid faithful.
In fact, as per Blancos insider Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, after already being targeted with fleeting boos against Real Sociedad in midweek, Vinícius has on Saturday again been subjected to widespread boos and jeers at the Santiago Bernabéu.
*Update* – Right on cue, Vinícius has levelled things up for Real Madrid!
