Aston Villa are having quite the season in the Champions League this term, having secured a spot in the quarterfinals after handsomely beating Club Brugge in the last round.

The Villans are also seventh in the Premier League table. But it appears coach Unai Emery is already thinking about the future and has started planning for the season ahead.

According to Fichajes, Emery has identified three potential targets for Aston Villa in the coming summer, as he looks to shore up the ranks at Villa Park.

Arda Guler on Aston Villa’s radar

Arda Guler has emerged as one of the three players Aston Villa are targeting once the season ends.

As a matter of fact, the Villans have emerged as the strongest candidate to sign Guler, who could be primed for a loan move away from the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

The Turkish international has found game-time hard to come by, as he has fallen behind the likes of Dani Ceballos, Jude Bellingham and Brahim Diaz in the pecking order.

Given his limited minutes and a seeming lack of trust from Carlo Ancelotti, a loan move appears to be the most logical solution for the former Fenerbahce starlet.

Arda Guler’s situation has put Aston Villa on red alert, with the Premier League outfit notably in an advanced position to secure his services.

Monchi’s vision, coupled with Emery’s style of play could be perfectly suited to Guler, who has often stepped up to the plate for his national team.

Even at Real Madrid, the youngster has a relatively decent record. But the lack of game-time has slowed his progress and a loan move to Aston Villa, to that end, could go a long way in helping the Turk revive his career.
