Crystal Palace have made it clear that any club wanting to sign Adam Wharton this summer will need to pay a hefty price, slapping a £100 million valuation on the young midfielder, according to a report.
Since arriving at Selhurst Park in January 2024, Wharton has been nothing short of a revelation. The 21-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the Premier League’s most promising midfielders and even earned a spot in England’s squad for Euro 2024.
Despite a setback that saw him sidelined from November to February due to groin surgery, Wharton has bounced back in style. Since his return, he has been playing back to his former self, which has caught the eye of several top clubs in the process.
Manchester United and Manchester City have both been linked with the talented youngster, but they are far from the only ones keeping tabs on him.
According to TBR Football, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are all impressed by Wharton’s rapid development. Chelsea, in particular, had been among the clubs keen to sign him when he was still at Blackburn Rovers.

Interestingly, the report makes no mention of Man United’s ongoing interest, despite their persistent links to the midfielder. That could be down to financial constraints, with Palace setting a price tag that may prove too steep for them.
The Eagles reportedly believe Wharton could command a transfer fee similar to the £105 million Arsenal paid for Declan Rice in 2023. They have made it clear to potential suitors that they will need to stump up at least £100 million (€120m) if they want to lure him away from south London.
With Wharton under contract until 2029 and in no rush to leave, Palace hold all the cards. Any club hoping to sign him will need to make an offer that is simply too good to refuse.
