Roma beat Hellas Verona 1-0 at the Stadio Olimpico.to extend their Serie A unbeaten run to 17 games and stay in the Champions League race.
Scorers: Shomurodov 4'
The only goal of the game came after just four minutes from Eldor Shomurodov. It was a fine team goal, with Bryan Cristante picking out Matías Soulé on the right with a brilliant cross field ball.
The Argentine forward cut inside before going back outside and easily past a Verona defender. From here, he lofted the ball over Lorenzo Montipò, where Shomurodov was to get ahead of two defenders and poke the ball into the net.
Claudio Ranieri might have expected to kick on but Verona defended resolutely throughout in what was quite an even game.
However, the Gialloblu struggled themselves to make many chances of note, and the hosts were comfortable in most part.
The win sees Roma leapfrog rivals Lazio into sixth for the time being, and they now sit just two points outside the top four.
