The Sky Sports column ‘Jones Knows’ has given some interesting analysis and commentary on what is currently the position at Newcastle United.

The column makes predictions on what will happen at certain Premier League matches and also debates other matters/issues at clubs as well.

However, unlike the usual ex-pro predictions, that are usually simply based on how ‘big’ a club is and whether or not they won the previous game, this one has proper analysis and insight, not lazy assumptions.

The Sky Sports ‘Jones Knows’ column looks at the matches from a betting perspective and has been concentrating on this Newcastle United game away at Leicester City.

Lewis Jones (who is the Sky Sports expert behind the ‘Jones Knows’ column) has highlighted some major underlying factors that could / should have a big bearing on this Leicester v Newcastle v game.

“Leicester posted an expected goals tally of 0.02 in the defeat at Manchester City. An extraordinary achievement.

“It’s the lowest by any top-flight team all season – beating Newcastle’s 0.04 against Crystal Palace.

“Leicester have now lost 15 of their last 17 games in all competitions and are on a run of seven successive Premier League defeats without scoring. That’s the first time that’s happened in the history of the football club.

“I’m not sure playing at home is going to help them here – things could get ugly.

“Newcastle should be capable of scoring multiple goals and the way to back some value in that outcome is to put your faith in Jacob Murphy to assist at 9/4 with Sky Bet. He has eight assists in his last 20 starts for the Toon and has developed excellent chemistry with Alexander Isak.

Score prediction: Leicester 0 Newcastle 4″

Interesting analysis as always, from the Sky Sports expert.

Difficult to disagree with any of that pre-Leicester City overview.

We now just need the conclusions he has come to, his prediction(s), to become reality…possibly including Jacob Murphy supplying an assist.

Murphy put in that brilliant cross for Isak to head the opening goal against Brentford on Wednesday, the latest of many assists he had provided for the Sweden international this season.

Leicester have lost their last seven Premier League matches without scoring a single goal, whilst conceding eighteen.
