Discover the key figures and highlights of Paris Saint-Germain’s 6-1 victory at Saint-Étienne, on Matchday 27 of Ligue 1.
In the works for several weeks, the record held by AC Milan for the most consecutive away matches in the league without a defeat (set between 1991 and 1993) has now been matched by Paris Saint-Germain. A remarkable feat, unseen in 30 years, and one that could officially be broken on 22 April in Nantes.
Paris are also still unbeaten this season, with 27 matches without defeat. The invincibility streak continues, with the aim of extending the joy until the end of the season, which would be a first in France!
Another record, and a bit more specific, is that PSG inflicted their heaviest defeat in history at Saint-Étienne.
Désiré Doué is stepping up his game. He has been consistently impressing fans and observers for several weeks, and after celebrating his first call-up and his first cap for the national team, the Paris number 14 scored his first professional career brace across all competitions, against Saint-Étienne this Saturday.
Additionally, he has now been involved in 22 goals in Ligue 1 (11 goals, 11 assists), with “NBA-like” stats that bring him closer to Lamine Yamal this season. Golden Boy vibes!
It’s a first for Ibrahim Mbaye, who found the back of the net in Ligue 1! At 17 years and 64 days old, he becomes the second youngest player to score in a Top 5 European league match this season, behind Lamine Yamal (17 years and 42 days, with Barcelona against Bilbao on August 24, 2024, in La Liga). He is also the youngest Parisian player to score in the league since Warren in 2023, who was only 16 years and 330 days old.
As for Fabian Ruiz, he’s no rookie when it comes to success. In fact, he is a serial winner. He has not lost any of his last 49 Ligue 1 matches with Paris SG (39 wins, 10 draws), dating back to a 3-1 loss against Lorient on 30 April 2023. This streak marks the longest unbeaten run for a player in the top flight since 1947-48, surpassing the previous record held by his teammate Marquinhos (48 matches between May 2014 and March 2016).
