What was more pleasing was that we won it the right way, we won it the Celtic way. By playing some wonderful football and scoring some delightful goals. Scoring an abundance of goals yesterday and throughout the season.
An own goal, and doubles from both Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah gave us a deserved and comprehensive victory at Tannadice as Celtic made four in a row official much to the delight of the outstanding travelling Celtic support, an absolute credit to our wonderful club.
In the 1990s of the 30 trophies contested in Scottish football Celtic won just three. We regularly reach that total in a season these days, in what Brendan Rodgers is calling a Golden Generation for Celtic.

We more than proved on the day that we are worthy champions in game we controlled from start to finish, and ended the day 17 points ahead of second place with a much better goal differential to further cement our superiority. We can increase the lead to 20 points a week today when the Summer Bragging Rights trophy will be dusted down and played for as the most important silverware of the season.
Over the course of the season Celtic has been more than worthy winners. Most wins, fewest defeats, most goals, fewest conceded which of course equates to the most important stat, the most number of points. We have also played the best football, entertaining attacking, exciting football and players like Maeda, Kuhn, McGregor and Hatate have been outstanding performers.

Daizen Maeda eating a tangerine yesterday was a brilliant moment and he’s going to be collecting much more than free fruit over the coming few weeks. What a player Brendan Rodgers and his coaching staff have turned Daizen into. Rodgers clearly loves it at Celtic and is making all the right noises about the future but he can’t talk beyond the end of next season as he is NOT contracted beyond June 2026.
That ball is in Celtic’s court and as there has been nothing from the club about this to date we can only imagine that Dermot Desmond and Brendan Rodgers will discuss this after the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen on Saturday 24 May at the Hampden. Maybe he’ll get offered a new contract in the showers?

We are Glasgow Celtic, the best team in Scotland and more than worthy champions of Scotland. The 1990s were our darkest hour in living memory, this is the golden era for Celtic and we’re loving every second of it.
I’m off to read Sandman as his Definitive Ratings have now been posted.
