Dumfries overhead kick puts Inter 2-0 up in Barcelona

Thuram sent the travelling Nerazzurri supporters into a frenzy with his opening goal after just 30 seconds, making a phenomenal return after a three-game injury absence. For reference, Simone Inzaghi’s side had lost all three of those matches without the Frenchman.

Then, less than 20 minutes later, Inter were 2-0 up thanks to another great finish from another injury returnee, Denzel Dumfries.

An outswinging Federico Dimarco corner was met by the head of Francesco Acerbi, and played into the path of Dumfries, who was able to pull out an overhead kick in a congested Barcelona penalty area to send the Nerazzurri 2-0 up.

The celebrations did not last for long, however, as Lamine Yamal, who had been an injury doubt minutes before kick-off, halved the deficit and then hit the frame of the goal shortly afterwards.
