West Ham United suffered a humiliating 5-0 loss to Liverpool on Sunday night at the London Stadium.

The Hammers produced a horrible display in front of their home supporters and deservedly lost by a huge margin.

West Ham were coming off a morale-boosting victory over Southampton, but they were brought back to earth by Liverpool.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring with a powerful finish before Mohamed Salah brilliantly set up Cody Gakpo for the second.

The Egyptian got in on the act himself by netting his 20th goal of the season on the stroke of half-time.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota added two more after the break, as the visitors cruised to a comprehensive victory to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.

Worst West Ham performer

Julen Lopetegui’s side were torn to shreds by the Reds at the London Stadium.

Apart from Alphonse Areola and Mohammed Kudus, nearly all the Hammers’ stars were massively disappointing with their displays.

But we believe that Vladimir Coufal was the worst performer for the East Londoners in Sunday’s defeat.

The 32-year-old made almost no impact and was taken off at half-time by Lopetegui.

Coufal, who has played 442 matches in his career so far, had only 15 touches during the 45 minutes he was on the pitch.

He completed seven of his nine passes and lost the ball on three occasions.

The right-back won zero aerial/ground duels, and also failed to contribute a single interception or tackle.

Coufal has been at West Ham since 2020 when he joined the club from Slavia Prague.

The Czech Republic international has made 169 senior appearances for the Irons. But he has been on the fringes of the squad this campaign.

With his contract expiring in June 2025, the club will likely try to move him on in January.
