Chelsea always were linked with the best younger talents in football, and that’s especially true now that the new ownership have taken over and focused their efforts on precisely that.
The club have hoovered up teenage prodigies from all over the world, and according to CaughtOffside, their eye has alighted on a new potential star rising in European football with every passing week.
Jorrel Hato is so good and so experienced that you can’t believe your eyes when you watch him and then get told he’s just 18. But the Ajax kid looks like a star already, and it’s no surprise that Chelsea are now being linked with serious interest in him.
They’re not the only ones, of course. Arsenal and Real Madrid are mentioned specifically, and we’d imagine there’s far more interest than just that. How could there not be?
The youngster is a regular at Ajax, has senior caps for his country and is considered among the best talents for his age in that position in the world. He’s value at between £40m and £50m, and Ajax will always sell at the right price.

So far, sources seem to say that the youngster would prefer to stay and continue developing in the Eredivisie, a very sensible idea. But you can be sure that the moment he’s ready to depart and move to a bigger league, Chelsea will be front of the queue to try and persuade him that they’re the right option.
But there’s no need to get desperate: Josh Acheampong just made his senior league debut for the Blues, and it looks like they have an 18 year old defensive prodigy of their own, developed in their own academy.
