Effort and drive are the kind of values that help players at FC Barcelona to succeed and thrive. Without the necessary commitment, no player can end up succeeding at the club no matter what they try to do. However, mustering up that strength to put in the work can be challenging, especially at a club like Barcelona.
Demands are always there, with each and every player expected to always perform to the best of their abilities. Those that are unable to do so are often critiqued quite heavily, and it can well and truly have a negative impact on the player’s personal growth and mental health.
Still, there are those who ensure that no kind of setback restricts them from doing everything they can to improve themselves. One such player is Ansu Fati, the prodigal son from La Masia who many expected to have done much more by now than he has managed to accomplish so far at Barcelona.
However, his commitment to the cause remains completely undeniable. According to Mundo Deportivo, despite the fact that he has only just recovered from his last injury, the Spanish forward has requested the club to allow him to do extra training during the Christmas break.
While other players will use this upcoming week to reset themselves and relax a little, Fati will use it to find some rhythm back again. After his recent injury, the 22-year-old forward definitely could not wait to feature again but he was not able to make his return against Atletico Madrid due to the competitive nature of the game and his own lack of sharpness at the moment.
To overcome that, he is now hoping to put in the work during this upcoming break and his recent request has reportedly gone down well at Barcelona. Both Hansi Flick and Deco reportedly appreciate it, and the club has already assigned a group of fitness coaches, doctors, and physiotherapists to aid him during this training period.
With January expected to bring some new opportunities in the form of the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup, Fati will want to make the most of any chances that come his way. To do that, however, he will need to be in the best shape possible and fully fit as well.
While opportunities may have been scarce for him this season, Fati remains committed. Regardless of the noise surrounding his future, the player may have some chances to prove to the club that he is worth counting on.
