FC Barcelona have been racing against the clock in recent days to find a way to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. So far, the club has been unable to find a solution, and time is running out.

If Barcelona fails to register the duo in time, it would place the club in a difficult situation. This would mean Olmo and Víctor would be ineligible to play for the Catalan club this season, both in domestic competitions and the UEFA Champions League.

Dani Olmo’s case is quite unique, as his contract includes a specific clause that allows him to join any other club for free if Barcelona fails to register him in any transfer window before his contract expires. In such a scenario, he would also be entitled to collect his agreed wages from the Blaugranas.

However, the case of Pau Victor is different, as he has no such clause in his contract and must abide by the club’s decisions.

In such a scenario, according to Mundo Deportivo, If the Catalans fail to register him, they won’t be able to loan him out to another club for the next six months, as players must be registered with their parent club in order to be loaned. As a result, he could be left without any game time until next season.

However, as per the report, Pau Victor, despite knowing that he cannot go out on loan, is very calm about the situation.

Barcelona can count their lucky stars if they fail to register Dani Olmo and the player still chooses to stay at the club. This has been mismanagement of the highest order and Joan Laporta will have to take responsibility.

Both Olmo and Pau have had crucial roles to play in the first half of the season in different capacities. The former has been a regular starter on most occasions whenever fit while the latter has impressed with cameos off the bench.

More than just failing to register these two players, this would give the club a very poor impression in the eyes of potential transfer targets who will think twice before signing a deal to come to Barcelona. After all, which player would want to miss six months of football during his professional career?

Barcelona believe there is still hope to register the duo but time is surely running out. Let’s wait and see how it plays out in the hours and days to come.
