FC Barcelona once again got the better of Atletico Madrid as they faced them in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final and came out the winners with a 0-1 scoreline.

As was the case in the La Liga game right before the March international break, Ferran Torres was once again key for his side, as his goal made the difference in this game and got his team the victory.

Thus, the Spaniard once again showed his importance in Hansi Flick’s team, despite not being a starter. The former Manchester City player has been more of a substitute for Robert Lewandowski, but as Mundo Deportivo has noted, he is currently the most efficient striker in Spain.

In total, the Spaniard scored 14 goals in La Liga and Copa del Rey – of which 11 were scored in 2025 – despite having played only around 1000 minutes in both competitions.

Thus, he is scoring 1.19 goals every 90 minutes, an average higher than Robert Lewandowski’s 1.09 and Alexander Sorloth’s 0.98 goals every 90 minutes.

In La Liga, his average of 1.02 goals every 90 minutes is also slightly higher than Robert Lewandowski’s, and also higher than Cristhian Stuani’s 0.96 goals.

In the Copa del Rey, he has 5 goals in 4 games and thus ties the Real Madrid striker Endrick and the Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez. However, his average of 1.74 goals every 90 minutes is higher than that of any other player participating in this competition.

Similarly, the Barcelona forward is also showing a significant improvement over his performances in the last few seasons. In La Liga, he has scored 9 goals and already surpassed his previous best number of 7 goals. On the other hand, his best tally in Copa del Rey previously was 1 goal, and this season he already has 5 goals.

Thus, Torres stands prominently among the players who have improved the most under Hansi Flick, and his contributions are proving to be crucial for the Blaugranes as they continue to fight for all the titles.
