Arsenal shared the spoils against PSV Eindhoven in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie on Wednesday night.

The Gunners had a significant 7-1 advantage from the first leg on the road, and the game was pretty much a dead rubber for them.

Manager Mikel Arteta made seven changes to the starting line-up.

Raheem Sterling initially started on the right wing and delivered a solid attacking display.

The Englishman assisted Oleksandr Zinchenko’s stellar strike in the opening half.

He also turned provider for Declan Rice’s goal with a sublime cross from the right flank.

Sterling was guilty of missing two one-on-one chances on the night, but it was a much improved showing from the Chelsea loanee.

The 30-year-old created three big chances against PSV. He had 47 touches with a passing accuracy of 87 percent. He won five duels.

He was adjudged the man of the match by UEFA but won’t feature for the Gunners in the first leg of the quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Sterling picked up a yellow card for a strong challenge on Johan Bakayoko in second-half injury time. It was his third booking of the European campaign.

As a result, he is suspended for the first leg against Los Blancos at home next month.

The £18 million-rated star is also ineligible to face his parent club Chelsea in the league on Sunday.

The Gunners will be aiming to return to winning ways before the international break. They entertain their London rivals at the Emirates Stadium.

Sterling will have to wait until April 1 against Fulham to make his next appearance for Arsenal.
