Saturday’s match ended Spurs 1 Newcastle 2.
Ahead of each match we ask one of our writers to come up with three positives and three negatives following the game.
Plenty to talk about after this one…
On this occasion it is ‘Matt Busby said to Joe Harvey…’:
POSITIVES
Isak scores again
Seven premier league matches since 4th December and seven Premier league goals for wor Alex.
He scored the winner today and if anyone says that was an easy tap in, I’ll tell them something different; it was a much harder finish than it first looked.
What feet. What technique. What a striker.
What a run of results we’re on.
A great finish from Gordon before Isak put us in front.
Big Dan Burn was my MOTM.
Let’s hope we can win again a couple of miles down the road on Tuesday!
Botman’s back
It’s been a long time coming but Sven is back.
Okay, he had some shaky moments early doors and should have done better with Solanke for their goal, but he grew into the game.
Played well and lasted over 90 minutes.
I’m hoping he’s not injured again after limping off.
Botman limped off
Hopefully nothing too serious for our talismanic Dutchman after his first start in ten months. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
We had to play against 12 men
My heart sank when I saw it was Andy Madley officiating today.
I thought he was poor and had convinced myself he wouldn’t blow for time until Spurs had equalised.
A complete numpty.
We sat back
I know I’m being harsh and maybe I should be instead commenting on how we controlled the game, but having been conditioned into always assuming the worst when it comes to NUFC holding onto a slender lead, that 59 minute second half was excruciating at times.
