Manchester United suffered their first defeat of the Premier League campaign against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils had another mixed performance in the final third and they were beaten 2-1 after a late stoppage time goal from Joao Pedro.
Despite this, there were positives to carry forward. Amad Diallo missed a glorious chance in the first half, but he made amends with the equaliser.
Noussair Mazraoui was once again impressive from right-back. The Moroccan provided the assist for Diallo’s hugely deflected goal at the hour mark.
Alongside the duo, Diogo Dalot also caught the eye with his performance from left-back. The 25-year-old was the club’s man of the match in our opinion.
The Portuguese had 81 touches with a passing accuracy of 90%. He won six ground and aerial duels against Brighton alongside 100% of his tackles (2/2).
Dalot was unlucky to not register an assist. He delivered a sumptuous left-footed cross into the path of Diallo, but the Ivorian fluffed his lines in the box.
The £30 million-rated star also made a brilliant goal-line clearance when Brighton were 1-0 up.
Dalot did everything right in the game, barring one moment. He was nowhere to be seen in stoppage time as Pedro was gifted a free shot in the box.
United suffered their fifth defeat in six league meetings against Brighton, but they need to get over the setback with a hugely important derby coming up.
The Red Devils host arch-rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford before the international break. The fans will want a strong response on the back of the Brighton loss.
