AS Monaco have reached an agreement with Beşiktaş for the loan of Al-Musrati (28), according to a report from Foot Mercato. Monaco will pay around €1 million for the initial loan and will have the option to then buy the Libyan international at the end of the season for €10 million.
The club have been in search of an experienced defensive midfielder who will help provide cover for the departure of Eliot Matazo. The academy product was sold during the ongoing transfer window for an undisclosed fee (reported to be around €2 million) to Championship side Hull City. Al-Musrati would fit Monaco’s search.
Al-Musrati joined Beşiktaş from Braga midway through last season on loan but with a mandatory purchase clause. During his time in Portugal, the midfielder gained experience playing in the Champions League and has featured in the Europa League this season for Beşiktaş.
