Al-Hilal are ready to make a massive contract offer worth €35 million net per season to sign Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 28-year-old has every intention of rejecting the bid out of hand.
Inter Milan and Italy midfielder Nicolo Barella certainly has no shortage of admirers.
The former Cagliari man has evolved into one of the most complete midfielders over his time at the Nerazzurri.
And this has led to plenty of transfer interest in Barella over the years.
In the summer of 2023, Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Manchester United showed interest in bringing Barella to the Premier League.
Were Barella to leave Inter, therefore, the Italian international would have his pick of top European clubs.
But it is not just teams in Europe that dream of signing Barella.

According to the Gazzetta, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are also ready to make a huge bid to try and tempt the 28-year-old away from the San Siro.
The newspaper anticipate that Al-Hilal want to make a statement signing before the Club World Cup this summer.
The Saudi club are hoping to sign their highest-profile player yet from Europe.
Therefore, Barella has come onto Al-Hilal’s radar.
The Saudi side are ready to offer Barella a deal worth €35 million net per season.
While the 28-year-old is already the highest-paid Italian player in Serie A – and Inter’s third-highest earner over overall – a contract of that size would still constitute an astronomical pay increase.
However, reports the Gazzetta, that is not enough to turn Barella.
The Italian international – who signed a long-term contract extension with Inter last summer – will reject any offer from Al-Hilal, no matter the size.
