AZ Alkmaar manager Marteen Martens addressed the media on the eve of the Europa League match with Roma.
In his press conference earlier today, Martens remarked, “Roma are a beautiful club with a beautiful history.”
“They have often been an obstacle for Dutch clubs in recent years, but the good games against Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray help us believe in a result tomorrow.”
“These were also teams with a lot of experience and individual quality. In that respect it is somewhat similar. The young talent helped us against Fenerbahçe.”
“We shouldn’t start too nervous. In recent years there has been a lot of pressure in our stadium during home games.”
“We have to try to bring the same performance as in the other home games. Roma had a difficult start to the season, but now they are playing at a normal level for them. They are doing better and better.”
“I have a lot of respect for Ranieri. He has experienced and demonstrated everything. Ranieri started his coaching career in 1986. I was two years old then.”
“Tomorrow we must dare to play freely,” he concluded.
