How important was the win against Mainz last weekend?"It was a very, very important win for all of us. We had set ourselves big expectations. We all realise that we now feel we have to win every game. Nevertheless, we take each game as it comes from game to game. That was a very important win for us, for the fans. Everything went according to plan."

On Saturday you face Freiburg. What kind of game are you expecting? "A very intense game. I think anyone who knows Freiburg knows that it's always intense. They've been playing together for a very, very long time. They've had the same system of play for as long as I've known. A lot of hard work, a lot of running. They haven't conceded a goal for a long time now. So it will definitely be a difficult game, very intense. But if we deliver our qualities on the pitch, especially the basics, then we'll get three points."

The reverse fixture was a comfortable 4-0 win. What memories do you have of the win at home?"I remember the 4-0 win, I remember Jule's free-kick goal. We were very attacking from the start of the game, we were switched on right from the beginning. And that's what will be important in the game now. We have to be there from the start and go in full of focus because Freiburg don't need many opportunities to score goals. That's why you have to be ready from the start."

Freiburg are currently seventh in the table, four points ahead of BVB. A win is a must for you."Absolutely. I think we have to win a few games now, but of course we're focusing on the game against Freiburg first. We want to go in fully focused and be ready from the start. Everyone knows that it's a very, very important game. The pressure is there, but pressure is always good. That's why it's extremely important for us to put in a good performance and, of course, get three points."

So, those were the football questions, now it's time for my personal ones: what do you like to do in your free time and can you go out without being recognised?"I really enjoy being with my family. So right now, when it's warm, we're outside a lot, playing with the kids, having barbecues. I also enjoy going out for a meal with my wife. And I have to be honest, I've never had a big problem going out because I always wear a hat. I think that's why most people don't recognise me straight away. That's why it's completely okay."

How do you feel when people see you and ask for photos or autographs?"Of course it's a nice feeling. If someone asks me nicely and with a request, then I'm also very warm and of course happy about it, because then you make someone else happy."

As a footballer, you must have to eat very healthily to stay fit. But is there a sweet treat that you can't say no to?"Cheesecake. Cheesecake is my favourite. You have to be careful as a footballer, yes. But you can also treat yourself when you've had a tough training session."
