Roma are looking to revitalise their project under Daniele De Rossi and have been approached by two Middle Eastern clubs for Houssem Aouar.

The Giallorossi finally confirmed a new three-year contract for De Rossi on Tuesday, allowing him to comfortably start planning ahead for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Plans have already been drawn up with sporting director Florent Ghisolfi ahead of the transfer market.

Roma have already started to clear out some unneeded players in their squad, selling Andrea Belotti to Como for €4.5m plus add-ons. Next up on the chopping block will be Rick Karsdorp, Chris Smalling, Zeki Celik, Edoardo Bove and Nicola Zalewski.

Two clubs emerge for Aouar

Page 33 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how a Saudi Arabian club and Qatari side Al Sadd are both interested in making a move for Aouar, having contacted Roma to register their interest. Nice have also opened talks for the midfielder.

The Giallorossi are hoping to sell the 25-year-old for at least €8-10m, allowing them to make capital gains on a player who never managed to live up to his potential in the Italian capital. This term, he only saw 1180 minutes of action across 25 matches for the club.
