Arsenal have been told how much it’ll cost to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko this summer, with Florian Plettenberg revealing fresh details about his contract with the Bundesliga side.

The Slovenian forward is expected to be at the centre of a Premier League transfer battle this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea all reportedly interested in luring him away from Leipzig.

Over the past couple of years, Sesko has been widely regarded as one of Europe’s brightest attacking talents, although he’s far from the finished article.

After netting 29 goals in 79 games for RB Salzburg, the 21-year-old has continued his upward trajectory at Leipzig, netting 35 goals in 76 games for the Bundesliga side.

He has been in lethal form for Leipzig this season, notching 17 goals and five assists in 34 games across all competitions.

According to Plettenberg, Sesko has a release clause in his Leipzig contract that fluctuates based on performance-related metrics.

As it stands, his clause is set at €70 million (£58m) but is expected to rise to around €80m (£66m) before the season ends.

United are long-term admirers of Sekso’s talent, but they’ve already splashed over £108m on Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee over the past two years.

United are in dire need of a new striker, with Hojlund failing to live up to expectations, but financial limitations could rule them out of the race for Sesko.

Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have also been linked with the Slovenian striker, but Sesko’s Champions League aspirations could pave the way for Arsenal to swoop in.

For the past couple of years, the Gunners have struggled without a prolific striker to lead the line.

Gabriel Jesus can barely stay fit, and Kai Havertz isn’t the prolific centre-forward who can help Arsenal challenge for silverware.

If the Gunners are serious about challenging for the Premier League title and making a deeper run in Europe, they may have to pull out all the stops to sign Sesko this summer.
