Jules Kounde has established himself as one of the best right-backs in Europe this season, churning out top displays consistently for FC Barcelona.

The French international, despite not being a natural right-back, has made the position his own, featuring in every match this season under Hansi Flick.

Naturally, his performances have not gone unnoticed, with several major Premier League clubs casting admiring glances towards him.

Arsenal, Chelsea want Jules Kounde

Indeed, according to Fichajes, Kounde is attracting serious interest from English heavyweights – Arsenal and Chelsea.

In fact, the report even claims that the Gunners are prepared to offer €75 million for the Barcelona right-back, as they look to strengthen their defence in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Chelsea, for their part, have been long-term admirers of Kounde, having gone head-to-head with Barça for his signing back in 2022.

Having come second in that transfer race, it appears that the Blues are ready to try and land the 26-year-old defender again in the summer.

Sale unlikely

It is true that Barcelona find themselves in a tricky position once again with their Financial Fair Play position. And, a sale of this magnitude, potentially fetching €75 million, would go a long way in helping the club address the issue.

However, Kounde is not a player that the Blaugrana will be looking to offload in the summer. After all, the former Sevilla ace is one of the most trusted players for manager Hansi Flick.

In fact, Barcelona are already working on tying Kounde down to a new contract, with his current one expiring in 2027.

As such, Arsenal and Chelsea are unlikely to be successful in their pursuit of the French defensive heavyweight come summer.
