Arsenal head to Everton in the Premier League this weekend aiming to keep alive their fading title hopes.
The Gunners returned from the international break with a 2-1 win over Fulham on Tuesday, but remain 12 points adrift of Liverpool after the latter’s win over Everton the following day.
Mikel Arteta will be keen to continue momentum and confidence, however, ahead of a looming Champions League clash with Real Madrid. Arsenal have a strong record in Premier League away games this season and are currently 11 unbeaten on the road.
Everton, however, have lost just one of their last 10 games under David Moyes. The Toffees have also won three of their last four meetings with Arsenal at Goodison Park. This will be the final time the teams meet at the venue.
Gabriel Maghalaes will not play again this season in a bitter blow to Arsenal’s silverware hopes. The Brazil international sustained a hamstring injury against Fulham that requires surgery.
Jurrien Timber was also injured against Fulham, while Ben White was ruled out ahead of kick-off. With Riccardo Calafiori and Takehiro Tomiyasu still sidelined, Arsenal are light of defensive depth. Further forward, Gabriel Jesus (ACL) and Kai Havertz (hamstring) will not play again this season.
Bukayo Saka should make his first start since December after a goalscoring return from the bench in midweek.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Partey, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Merino, Martinelli.
Everton host Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday April 4th. Kick-off is 12:30pm BST.
This match will be shown live on TNT Sports in the UK.
