According to a report from L’Équipe, AS Roma midifielder Houssem Aouar (26) is set to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad in the coming days.

Olympique Lyonnais academy product Aouar only joined the Serie A giants last summer on a free transfer. In his debut season at Roma, he made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals, however, his stay in the Italian capital may prove to be short.

L’Équipe understands that Aouar, who does not feautre in Daniele De Rossi’s plans, is now close to joining Al-Ittihad, a club that will soon have former Lyon manager Laurent Blanc at the helm. There he will link up with another OL legend in the form of Karim Benzema.

Al-Ittihad have submitted a €15m offer for the Algerian international, according to Corriere dello Sport, and whilst the bid does not yet meet the Serie A side’s valuation, an agreement is expected to be reached within the next two or three days.
