Leganés manager Asier Garitano has spoken about the future of player Borja Garcés at a press conference.
Garcés decided to go to a wedding over the weekend which led to him missing Leganés play against Tenerife on Saturday.
A furious Garitano told Marca that the player no longer has a future at the club.
“I know what happened and what he has to do. He was a player dear to me, but I don’t accept these situations from anyone, no matter how we are. This boy, as long as I’m here, will never wear the Leganés shirt again,” said Garitano.
The 22-year-old is on loan at Leganés from Atlético Madrid.
According to the player’s entourage, the version is very different to that of Garitano. The player reportedly asked for permission last Tuesday to travel to Melilla to attend his brother’s wedding.
Borja Garcés’ plan was to go to the church for the ceremony and to be back in Madrid at 4 pm to be able to play against Tenerife.
Tenerife went on to beat Leganés 2-1 at Butarque.
