Athletic Club pair back in training ahead of Real Sociedad clash | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club were on Wednesday afforded a timely double boost on the personnel front.

This came by way of the return of two important members of Ernesto Valverde’s squad – in Álex Berenguer and Oihan Sancet – to first-team training.

Berenguer and Sancet have both spent the last couple of weeks on the sidelines.

In the case of the former, he has been dealing with an abdominal problem, whilst attacking midfielder Sancet is recovering from a sprained ankle.

On Wednesday, both, in turn, kickstarted their training for the day away from the rest of Athletic’s squad.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, though:

‘Oihan Sancet and Alex Berenguer began the session alone but then joined their teammates in training.’

The hope, in turn, is that both will be given the medical green light to play their respective parts in Athletic’s post-international break return to action against Real Sociedad this weekend.
