Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid have this week been credited with an interest in the signature of a one-time member of the midfield ranks at La Liga rivals Barcelona.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Italian sources, who point towards Arthur Melo as the player in question.
Midfielder Arthur has for his part endured a nightmare season to date, failing to make a single appearance for Juventus after failing to secure for himself a place in the plans of new Bianconeri boss Thiago Motta.
A January departure from Turin has in turn long been touted for the talented Brazilian.
In Spain, Real Betis have been repeatedly tipped as one such potential landing spot, amid their ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park.
And, as alluded to above, on Tuesday, another La Liga outfit have too been credited with an interest in Arthur’s services.
As per MD, eager to add to their midfield options without a considerable financial outlay, Atlético Madrid are considering a move for the 28-year-old.
Arthur could potentially be brought in on loan, making a cut-price swoop for a player who, despite his struggles, boasts undoubted quality, a tempting one for the Rojiblancos.
